Commission FAQ

How many commission slots are there per month?
Commissions will be opened every month, and the number of slots available could vary according to the amount of time I have to work on them. It is typically 4 per month, the exact number will be announced in the monthly commission poster.

When do I know if commissions are opened?
Once you see the monthly commission poster, you can start sending in your applications for slots.

How do I get a commission slot?
To get a slot, email me at buzz@aiclay.com with ‘___ Commission’ in the subject header, please fill in the blank with the month, for e.g April Commission.

What do I include in the email?
Please provide a brief description of the items you want commissioned. If you require certain details, reference photos or specific descriptions/measurements will be appreciated. Otherwise, I will use my aesthetic judgement if required.

What happens after I apply for a slot?
I might ask you for more information about your commission if needed. If not, I would send you a confirmed quote for the commissioned items.

When do I pay you?
Please pay within 24 hours upon receiving my confirmed quotation, unless you have discussed a longer timeframe with me. Otherwise, I will be opening up your slot to the next in line, according to the time they've emailed me. This is to make it fair to everyone in the list, so that they don't have to wait too long.

What are your prices?
As every commission is different, it is impossible for me to list prices. Prices reflect the amount of time and effort it would take for me to sculpt your order. You can get a sense of my prices by going to my Etsy shop. As every item is handmade individually, please only send in commissions if you are comfortable with the pricing. No bargaining would be entertained, to keep things fair for both me and you.
When will my slot be confirmed?
Only when payment is through. I will email to let you know that I have received payment and that your slot is now confirmed. Yay!
Also, I would tell you how long it would take for me to send out your package. It could take from one week to a month, depending on your place in the list.
Basically, the earlier the payment is through, the faster I could work on the commission and send out your parcel.

Can I commission you for anything?
Unfortunately no. Only commissions for miniature food items as props/displays or accessories will be entertained. The general rule is, if the real life versions can be eaten, I should be able to accept your commission.

Also, I would not accept commissions for copyrighted designs, for example rilakkuma, disney characters etc. I would hate to have someone use my designs without permission, so I do not want to violate their designs as well.

Please understand that I reserve the right to reject your commission as there are some miniature items that I cannot make due to complexity, size or functional aspects.

Would you take progress photos?
Taking photos slow down the sculpting process a lot, so the answer is no. However, I would snap a photo of the finished item though before I send it off, so that you can see it while waiting for the package to arrive.

Unless the finished product differs from what we've agreed on, I would not be able to conduct any refunds/exchanges.
